Lead officer for Climate Change at Shropshire Council since 2019, leading a small specialist professional team to advise and co-ordinate the Council's response to the challenge of climate change and to help Shropshire Council to demonstrate leadership by example to help businesses and communities in the county to respond. Leading the development of ground breaking local authority projects on biochar, renewable energy generation and hydrogen transport fuel. Enthusiastic, articulate and capable leader with a strong track record in networking across both the public and commercial sector. Twenty years professional spatial planning experience, specialising in minerals and waste planning, including leading the development implementation of a wide range of planning policy and strategy documents for Shropshire Council. Leading the operation and further development of the Council's infrastructure planning and developer contributions approach, including operational management of one of the first examples of the Community Infrastructure Levy in the country. Prior to my local government career, I worked for five years managing high value mine and land reclamation projects as client officer for Shropshire County Council and for five years in the private sector as contracts manager for Tilhill Landscaping (now UPM Tilhill) in the south-east and London.
