About Ailsa Oconnor

Process development engineer working in Digitalization, with in-depth knowledge of small-molecule crystallisation and reaction research and development. Currently working in Digitalization, using data analysis techniques to optimize manufacturing processes and aid in pharmaceutical product development. Biopharmaceutical processes often result in large and complex time series data sets being produced, and our clients often don't have the resources to handle this data efficiently. My main role at APC Ltd involves performing multivariate data analysis on these complex data sets using JMP, R and Python, and development of workflows or web apps in R and R Shiny to give the client the tools to carry out this analysis with future data. I also develop and maintain a number of internal web applications in R Shiny for data analysis and risk assessment generation. I am also part of a Data and Analysis Learning and Development team that provides Statistics and DoE training to scientists within the company. On a bi-monthly basis we present introductory sessions on statistics, and on a monthly basis we hold a more advanced statistics forum where I have provided classroom training sessions on Gaussian Process Regression, Principal Component Analysis, and Partial Least Squares Regression in Python.
