About Alan McAteer

My first love is architecture and I have been lucky enough to turn it into my business, spending the last three decades photographing and filming amazing architectural projects from the ground up.'Locate the edges and the centre will find itself’ Thomas Joshua Cooper I trained in the days of the dark room, having left school at 17 to pursue my passion for photography with Guthrie Architectural and Industrial Photographers. I stayed with Guthries until I formed McAteer Photograph in 2002, on the key principal that we create high end images at a realistic cost - this still holds true today. I’m very fortunate to undertake a broad scope of commissions and I’m obsessive about ensuring I get outstanding shots in every shoot. Every day is different and I enjoy nothing better than collaboration with genuinely talented innovators, free thinkers and creative risk-takers whose vision I can interpret, capture and present in my own unique way. We work throughout the UK and abroad with a range of amazing and talented clients from architects and property developers to public companies and blue chips. Some of my favourite projects include photographing the iconic Riverside Museum in Glasgow for Zaha Hadid, Speed of Light Ruhr Germany, Island Drift and St. Peter's Seminary for NVA, not to mention all the fantastic commissions from the Glasgow School of Art over the years including documenting the rebuilding of the Mackintosh. Our core team of three along with our freelance associates have expanded our services over the years and in addition to photography we deliver a range of services including videography, a bespoke stock photography service and a full production service.
