About Alan R. Boyco

Since it's establishment in 1950 as Surrey's very first Eye Clinic, the eye care needs of Surrey, and all of the surrounding area were always met. Dr. Alan R. Boyco, O.D. in November of 1992 assumed all of these operations. Later in he acquired Image Optometry and later introduced it's exclusive offer of a Doctor's eye exam AND complete glasses for $89.95, Image Optometry has matured into a popular chain of 19 eye clinics throughout Vancouver's lower mainland. All locations are owned solely by Dr. Boyco, or selected Doctors of Optometry. In March of 2021 Dr. Boyco came to an undisclosed term for the sale of the entire chain to the world's largest eye care chain, Specsavers. Dr. Boyco continues to be the driving force in BC's Sports Vision industry. He has been the Team Optometrist for the Vancouver Canucks (NHL) the BC Lions (CFL) since 1994, the Vancouver White Caps, Vancouver Canadians Baseball club. and is proud to have recently welcomed the Abbotsford Canucks to Vancouver's Lower Mainland sporting arena. He was also the team Optometrist for the Vancouver Giants (WHL) the Vancouver Grizzlies (NBA) while they were a Vancouver franchise from 1995 through During the 2006 World Junior Championships (IIHF) hosted in Vancouver he was the Event Optometrist. Dr. Boyco believes in complete eye care delivery. Image is where the three branches of eyecare; Optometry, Ophthalmology, and Opticianry all merge. Whether it be a comprehensive eye health exam, designer glasses and contact lenses, or even access to Dr. Boyco's own private cataract clinic or many online e-commerce platforms for eye care, eye glasses or contact lenses, Dr. Boyco passionately believes that holistically delivered eye care is what the public deserves.
