Background

About Albert van Eeden

I live and work for a purpose higher than myself. I have always had a deep interest in the natural world with its wide range of habitats, associated biodiversity and ecological processes. For the continued existence of the natural world, its plethora of species and the ecosystem goods and services that it provides, it is imperative that a stewardship mindset is adopted. I am committed to play my role as a steward by conserving, restoring and managing the natural resources entrusted to humanity. I also believe that without an integrated and holistic approach to life and the way we as humans interact with the natural world around us, the change that so many hope for will not be realized. My vision is for the long-term sustainable use of the planet's natural resources for the benefit of both humans and the planet's biodiversity by implementation of sound scientific principles and biodiversity management plans. By applying my skills, knowledge and passion in the environmental field (especially in the field of aquatic ecology) I can make a direct on the ground impact.
