About Alberto Casanova

Operation and Technical Director for new building and ship conversion - Mechanical Engineer- 48 years old, with a professional path with a strong international content matured in Shipbuilding and Navigation and Logistics Companies. I have followed the construction of important newbuildings at Chinese shipyards, as well as maintenance and unit retrofitting and conversion works both in India, Indonesia, Sudafrica and Singapore. Previous 10-year work experience at a newbuilding shipyard site, starting as junior project engineer up to the Head of Technical Department. Assignments in many aspects of construction site activities, technical management, project management, estimates and commercial activities; commercial experience alongside the sales manager and the managing director in negotiations with the owners; without neglecting the aspect of production and purchases and storage. As project manager I managed the most important projects of the Shipyard, PSV and AHTS, as a technical director I managed a team of 8 people (5 engineers an inspector, a cad designer and a document controller). Director of the HSE-Q office and DPA shipping company, I brought the company to BS OHSAS 18001:07 certification as well as shipowning companies and naval units in Mozambique and Indonesia, covering, as a counselor in their respective councils administration, also the position of Employer for the company and Employer / Owner for the ships company. I am a dynamic person, with a strong sense both for team work and for the individual, I have good experience of traveling abroad (Asia, far East) for several years and working in a team with people of other nationalities and culture.
