About Alberto Ribera

I am passionate of supporting development of people through education and coaching. I have an interdisciplinary background and experience ranging from medicine, psychology, management, behavioral economics and philosophy, with extensive exposure to different cultures. I joined IESE Business School in 2003 after a 15-year international career with the European Commission and other multilateral organisations, in charge of projects in Africa, Southeast Asia and especially in the Middle East. From to 2003, I was General Director of the Euro Arab Management School. At IESE I am the Academic Director of the IESE Coaching Unit and I teach the MBA courses “Personality, Self-leadership and Happiness”, which received the 2009 IESE Award for Excellence, “Stress Management and Wellbeing”, and “Coaching for Peak Performance”. I also teach the Executive MBA course “Managing Oneself”, the AMP course “Self-leadership”, and I am the Academic Director of the executive programs “Developing Leadership Competencies” and “Becoming a Positive Leader”. I am the author or co-author of 9 books, more than 30 case-studies, more than 20 scientific articles and technical notes. I have been invited as visiting professor or guest speaker at universities and business schools of more than 20 different countries and at international conferences like the World Economic Forum. I have taught courses for Enel, Compagnia di San Paolo, Banco di Napoli, Rabobank, Telecom Italia, Ferrero, BASF, Confindustria, Saint Gobain, Abertis, L'Oréal, Emirates National Bank for Development (ENBD), The Arab Contractors, Egypt Telecom, Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), BBVA, Banco de España, Enrst & Young, Hewlett Packard, PricewaterhouseCoopers, UNDP, UNHCR and other firms. I am a board member of the Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria (Rome), Limmat Stiftung (Zurich), IPE Business School Foundation (Naples) and other not-for-profit institutions.
