About Alex Carter

I have experience as an educational leader, particularly in private boarding and day school environments, which demonstrates my deep understanding of both the operational and pedagogical aspects of school leadership. With two decades as a Division Head or Assistant Head of School, I have developed significant expertise in managing teams, fostering student growth, and navigating the complexities of curriculum development and evaluation across K-8 classrooms. As an international student coordinator with extensive knowledge of the process for applying and maintaining a school's I-17 status, I am well-versed in several critical aspects related to the administration of student visa programs. I support the students through the visa process, helping maintain their status, and ensuring they have the correct documentation, such as Form I-20 (for F-1 students), which is tied to the school’s I-17 status. My extensive knowledge helps ensure that the school remains compliant, providing international students with the support they need to maintain their status in the U.S. while pursuing their studies. As a former college athlete, and in roles like Athletic Director and coach for multiple sports, I beleive it adds an important dimension in my leadership profile. Coaching ice hockey, soccer, football, baseball, and lacrosse not only speaks to my ability to manage sports programs but also brings into focus my commitment to student development beyond the classroom, teaching teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
