About Alex Ewing

My colleagues consider me to be deeply knowledgeable with two-way radio communications and I am well acquainted with advanced electronics and RF test equipment. I am a problem solver with a positive attitude. To me, setbacks and challenges are learning opportunities on the path to making things better. I am quick to learn, especially from hands-on work experiences. I am highly adaptable to new technologies, concepts and tools. I am well-organised and take pride in my written and oral communications skills. I like working in a team and work well with others. Equally comfortable working in supervised or unsupervised environments, I am known for taking initiative and meeting my commitments. I am keen to make contributions of my ideas and hard work, beyond what is expected. For technical skills, I bring decades of hands-on work with electronics, and familiarity with hand and power tools of various sizes. I began teaching myself how to use a soldering iron before I was in high school, and I am always open to expanding my toolkit. From building an amplified antenna from scratch, to helping build and being responsible for operating two broadcast radio stations, to managing a warehouse for an audio-visual company, my background suggests that I am a fast learner and I thrive in fast-paced, changing environments. While studying at NAIT, I discovered many more aspects of wireless technology that excite me. One prominent source of my excitement developed from my experimentation with software defined radio (SDR). The potential for technologies like SDR to revolutionise how humanity communicates makes me eager to be a part of this ever-evolving industry.
