About Alexandra Bissonnette

I believe that equal access to high quality education is a fundamental human right. I care about establishing policies and practices that improve educational opportunities and outcomes for all students, and I have spent my career dedicated to that effort. I've worked in public education as a teacher in South Los Angeles, and in the non-profit sector building power through community organizing in high-needs communities to transform neighborhood schools. I've worked at a private university where I built partnerships to provide opportunities to both college students and K-12 students in the surrounding neighborhoods, and now I work at the community college level, supporting students on their journey through our complex academic system. Education has always been at the core of what I do because I believe that through education, we can unlock the potential of our citizenry and actually make this world a better place for everyone.
