About Alexis Parent

I am currently looking to obtain a full time job that will allow me to gain additional work experience in an environment in which I can flourish as an individual and with my team. I have been working in customer service jobs for the past 10 years and believe that my experience in the field makes me a great candidate for a positions within this field and others. I thoroughly enjoy the food and beverage industry, as well as working with people, and plan on staying in this industry in some shape or form for the rest of my life. I think that my overall positive demeanour helps me maintain a good attitude at work for myself, my staff, and my guests, while my dedication and the pride I take in my work leads to a job performance that has landed me promotions in every job where I have sought after one. The past 3 years I have spent the winters travelling around the world, from Europe, to Southeast Asia, to Central and South America. I think that my travelling has helped strengthen the leadership qualities I already possessed, as well as helped me develop new ones. When you travel you come across many, many different people from all over, some that you like, and some that you don't. Through travelling I think I have become much more understanding and patient with others, and have learned that things do not always go the way you planned, and when they don't you must readjust, move forward, and make the best of the situation. I do see myself as a perfectionist - I like to do things right and I like to do things well - but I am adaptable. If there is an issue or something is not working one way, then I will find a new way, and I will get the task done. I am a very independent person and can work well alone, but I also thoroughly enjoy working alongside others, and always feel a strong sense of dedication to my fellow employees and workplace. For now, I am done with my travelling and would like to find a job that is consistent, while I shift my focus towards continuing my education and spending time with family. I graduated Magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa in my Biomedical Science program. I thoroughly enjoyed my undergraduate program; the material brought challenges, but also a lot of interest and excitement. I would be happy to explore and take part in future job opportunities that would allow me to get back to my roots and build upon my degree.
