About Alexis Tobar

I am passionate about solving complex modelling issues and continually tweaking solutions, and I would love to develop my career to the next step. As a Civil and Water Resources Engineer, I have over 3 years of experience working in challenging water and infrastructure projects and providing project management support throughout the life cycle of the projects. I have contributed and participated in multiple water projects including, but not limited to, undertaking hydraulic modelling for flood studies, floodplain risk management studies, urban drainage assessments and infrastructure design projects. My academic record shows an interest and background in hydraulic modelling and similar subjects related to water engineering which is the career path that I would like to continue pursuing. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with highly qualified engineering teams involved in a diverse ranged of water-related projects and I have been exposed to a wide range of hydrologic and 2D hydraulic (HEC-RAS, Iber, TUFLOW) models and their application to a variety of projects. I have a collaborative approach and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams to solve complex challenges. My former managers and colleagues describe me as a professional with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and a great team player. I am confident that my skills make me a fitting candidate for a Water Engineer, Hydraulic Modeller or Water Resources Engineer position, and I am excited to move forward with those opportunities.
