About Ali Anderson

Experienced educator with philosophy and practice anchored in Social Justice and Culturally Responsive Teaching. I have specialized experience in supporting colleagues, leaders, and students in the exploration and commitment to social justice values in a struggling community. I was selected to be faculty advisor of the student Anti-Defamation League (ADL) anti-bias program. Supported young people in the facilitation of lessons through feedback and mentorship. I have a lengthy career of Standards Based, Learning Objective, and Learning Target driven curriculum for the secondary and college level. I have developed and then utilized course curricula that have led to high student interest and then achievement on state and national standardized testing. Ability to meet people at unique starting points and guide towards success using various data points. As the Covid-19 pandemic exposed, communities and schools are in desperate need of equity support - in the form of technology, professionals, food, etc. As a professional, I uncovered an ability to respond to students and professional needs. In a technical capacity, I am self-taught and able to learn quickly. I learned Zoom and Microsoft TEAMS in a remote capacity and used both effectively in pandemic teaching. In its simplest form, I have a commitment to democratizing education and pushing back against inequity in all forms.
