Team Leader for Private Sector Housing with 28 years experience of working as an Environmental Health Officer predominately in private sector housing. Previous roles in pollution control, noise and acoustics. Extensive knowledge of all aspects of private sector housing including HMOs, fire safety, HHSRS and public health issues. Lead officer in Swansea dealing with the remediation of high rise residential buildings. Responsible for the drafting and implementation of Swansea Councils’ HMO licensing policy, including additional licensing, which regulates nearly HMOs. Tutor / lecturer on the apprenticeship programme for level 4 certificate in regulatory compliance housing. Well organised professional with a proven record of effectively managing and resolving complex housing issues. Passionate about improving housing standards and safety with a solution driven, problem solving attitude. Excellent communicator with outstanding ability to establish and maintain working relationships at all levels. I hold a BSc(Hons) Environmental Health from Cardiff University, a post graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control from UWE, the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, and I am a full member of the CIEH.
