Background
About Alice Tsui
Hello there, thank you for taking a moment to visit my profile. For a quick peep: I strive to research and explore neurodiversity education, aspiring to become an educational psychologist. Main Strength: Strategy and efficiency. Searching for a manager to look over your research project? Finding a partner to serve children with neurodiversity? Looking for a suitable Doctoral student in EduPsy? I’m ready for an e-meet anytime! The longer version: I specialized in language education and developed my interest in neurodiversity education (also names special education) in my third-year teaching life. It was fascinating to learn about different diagnosis and behaviors of children in their learning journeys. Finding strategies well suit their unique learning needs is meaningful, and I believe it is somehow the calling of an educator. Indeed, building an environment suitable for everyone to learn – by proper strategies. I started my research journey and first looking at the aspect of gifted education. Thanks to my supervisor, I had the opportunity to talk to several gifted education coordinators (GECO), gaining insights into setting school policies, teacher training, and curriculum planning. My life of research assistant is usually overlapped with my studies, during that time I helped ethnic minority students from 5 prestigious schools with their Chinese learning, tailored over 80 learning materials from elementary 1 to 5 in three years…then got a chance to work in the team focusing on international learning assessments – PISA and TIMSS, collaborated with over 100 schools in Hong Kong… Again, my study continues, this time in Psychology. It offered a new perspective for me as an educator, especially on developmental psychology. This journey eventually led me to my current job in the Department of Psychiatry. Didn’t mention much above, but you probably guessed it – I am a workaholic who values high efficiency and organized workflow. I am driven by the mantra “think efficiently and work effectively”. Projects under my supervision rarely become chaotic. Yup, I always saving time and resources through efficient multiple tasking, and meticulous attention to details, for sure. I am still continuing my research journey, firmly believing that all I experienced will eventually lead me to achieve my career goal. So dear connections, if I am the kind of person you’re seeking, please do let me know. I am always ready for a meaningful conversation and new opportunities. Thanks for reading up all the way through. You’re truly wonderful! Best, Alice
