About Alienor Ader

With a master's degree in international law, I have been working for more than 7 years in the humanitarian & development sector, including 6 years in Central & Western Africa in complex emergency, early recovery and development contexts. I have professional experiences at multiple levels, ranging from operational project management in the field, to leadership/management responsibilities at country and HQ levels, and coordination positions at strategic and institutional levels. I have a technical expertise in multiple areas that feed each other: food & nutrition security; family farming and pastoralism; natural resource and conflict management; peacebuilding; humanitarian-development nexus; economic recovery; environment, climate change adaptation and renewable energy development. My commitment is based on a vision of aid that I conceive as having not only technical and operational dimensions, but also a combination of multiple social, economic and political effects on local dynamics. Upstream, these aspects require approaches and tools that allow us to properly understand the contexts and populations we work with. Downstream, our intervention methods must allow us to efficiently face multiple operational challenges, without putting quality, accountability and impact minimum standards on the back burner.
