About Alison Forde

With more than 15 years of experience in fieldwork, research, writing, and presenting, I am comfortable in just about any working environment. Thoroughly passionate about scientific research, environmental education, and conservation, I enjoy every aspect of working in the field, laboratory, classroom, and at my desk. I have had the honour of delivering educational presentations and interpretive walks for South Peel Naturalists' Club, The Bruce Trail Conservancy, The Riverwood Conservancy, and Hamilton Naturalists’ Club. Topics have included mammal tracking, introduction to bird identification, Ontario’s turtles, overwintering strategies of plants and animals, synanthropes, and conservation of Ontario’s reptiles. Sharing knowledge between professionals and the public alike is key to achieving understanding about today's conservation and environmental issues and what can be done to solve them. In my free time I contribute to community science initiatives through iNaturalist and eBird.
