About Alys Gilbert

I am a Designer specialising in Interiors, presently working in the Liberty Fabrics Design Studio. In my role I work on the end-to-end designing of digitally and conventionally printed wallpapers (standard and wide width), printed fabrics, weaves and embroideries. I work across all aspects of the collection design process from drawings and paintings to digitisation, colour separating, mill sampling and even help with the photoshoots and sales assets. I am a highly skilled artist able to produce artworks that perform in a luxury market. My designs from the most recent wallpaper collection (Botanical Atlas, 2023) have gone on to be best sellers. They have been featured in magazine advertisements and have been used across the business in the Liberty store on products such as cushions I have a BA (Hons) in Textiles Design from Edinburgh College of Art and a wealth of experience in textile design and luxury fashion communications. My graduate Textiles collection, for which I received a 1st class degree, earnt the New Designers Liberty of London award and was shortlisted for the ArtsThread Global Graduate Showcase in collaboration with i-D and Gucci.
