Background
About Amanda Bair
I am a goal-driven educator and communication specialist whose family business is education. Currently, I am at Wright City R-II School District. As a Business Education teacher, I have been passionately involved in designing and implementing an innovative program that addresses the diverse needs of students in the Career and Technical Education program. My responsibilities include guiding the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals, establishing clear lesson objectives, and maintaining a structured and fair classroom environment. My commitment extends beyond teaching; I serve as the Non-Core Impact Team Leader and a member of the Leadership Team and MSIP 6 Committee. Additionally, as a Co-District Adviser and Chapter Adviser for the Future Business Leaders of America, I am dedicated to nurturing the next generation of business leaders. Before joining Wright City R-II School District, I was with Silex R-I School District from 2017 to 2021. In this role, I demonstrated my expertise in business education, focusing on setting high expectations for student achievement. My responsibilities included planning, preparing, and implementing a comprehensive CTE program and diligently working to develop student skills for employment or further education. Outside the traditional K-12 education system, I have held significant roles, including working at St. Louis Community College from 2016 to 2017 as a Coordinator for CollegeNow. In this position, I coordinated collaborative efforts to develop and manage postsecondary degree or certificate attainment initiatives. Additionally, my tenure at Moberly Area Community College from 2013 to 2016 as a Dual Credit Specialist and Academic Advisor involved working with schools regarding dual credit, advising, enrolling students, and organizing college fairs, further showcasing my diverse educational skill set.In addition to my educational roles, I possess substantial experience in journalism and communication, honed through my tenure as Editor at The Lake Gazette. In this capacity, I was responsible for writing, reviewing, and editing content, a role that required a keen eye for detail and a talent for storytelling. My tasks included overseeing the publication process, from production and layout to photography and printing. This experience significantly enhanced my skills in creating engaging content and managing a publication's overall aesthetic and informational quality. My ability to ensure the currency of platforms further underscores my competence in digital communication.
