About Amanda Kellock

I have an MFA in Directing and a BFA in Theatre and Development. I am passionately interested in what it means to be human, and the way I explore this is through theatre. Whether it be directing, acting, writing (translation and adaptation, mostly) or teaching - I am always aiming for honesty, integrity, and rigorous passion. Since 2015, I've been the Artistic Director of Repercussion Theatre, the company that tours Shakespeare-in-the-Park across Montréal and beyond. In my time with the company, I also spearheaded a new play development program called Words With Will, in which we would support playwrights as they created work that somehow "talked back to Shakespeare." I have taught at Concordia University, McGill University, Dawson College, Geordie Theatre School, and the National Theatre School of Canada as well as leading a variety of workshops over the years. I love teaching, even though I will never feel that I know enough. My main goal as a teacher is to encourage students to be present, aware, curious, committed and courageous - so that they are in charge of their own learning. Specialties: Theatre - directing, acting, writing and teaching. Teaching - performance, and various life skills through drama; I've also worked as an acting coach, especially for Shakespeare
