About Amanda Nepo

Design-driven innovator who develops and prototypes creative solutions across live entertainment, immersive experiences, consumer products, and emerging technology. Currently a junior at USC's Iovine and Young Academy studying Arts, Technology & the Business of Innovation with a minor in Connected Devices & Making. My creative foundation comes from an unconventional place: magic. What began as curiosity about how things work evolved into a rigorous creative practice—designing original illusions, which led to me successfully fooling the legendary duo on Penn & Teller: Fool Us at the age of 16, consulting on live and filmed effects, and launching original magic effects sold worldwide. At IYA, I've translated this approach into new domains: building practical effects for theater and film, prototyping interactive devices, and designing immersive experiences that merge storytelling with technology. I thrive at the intersection of creativity, technology, and hands-on experimentation, bringing a unique perspective that bridges artistic vision with technical execution. I'm seeking summer 2026 opportunities where I can contribute fresh ideas and rapid prototyping skills to innovative teams pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
