About Amel Kurmally

Over the last number of years, I’ve moved up to the VP, Operations and Finance from a Manager role. I came on board and took on some of the less glamorous tasks, investing in the Company just as the Company was investing in me. I’ve been a part of the Venngo team since 2003. For the first ten years, there wasn’t a need for layers and management as we were only 6-8 people. Now, I have multiple teams reporting to me as part of the Executive Leadership here. I was an instrumental part of the move from who we were as a Company to who we are now, often referred to as “Venngo 2.0”. I took on not just the forecasting, legal review and documentation but the change in management. We wanted our base teams to embrace the evolution and be part of it. In my current role, I strive to achieve a balance between oversight and people management. I take a very holistic view of my departments and I hire people who are eager to be part of Venngo’s future. I’m proud of the professional development of my managers who are also some of my first hires. They came in at an entry level and have grown personally and professionally. They have people who report into them now, people who depend on them for training and knowledge. Right now, I’m looking for more resourceful problem solvers. That’s who we are as a group. We want to make things better and more efficient. That’s not always easy by design, so we need creative innovators to come on board - and that isn’t a term traditionally used in Operations, but at Venngo, we are far from traditional.
