About Amy Allman

Amy Allman was a Resource Teacher of Gifted Education in the Montgomery County Public School District, where she develops a continuum of gifted education resources and leadership. She is a 21-year, retired educator within the Montgomery County Public School District who has a Masters Degree in Educational and Administrative leadership and holds an administrative license. She was also an adjunct faculty member at Radford University where she taught undergraduate level coursework in the School of Teacher Education. She currently served as a member of Women Education Leaders in Virginia (WELV), National Association for the Gifted, Virginia Association for the Gifted, National Education Association, and Montgomery County Education Association. Amy assisted the school district in developing gifted education programs and training administrators and personnel in the field. She has developed and taught many STEM activities and programs for students. She specializes in developing programs for diverse gifted students and innovative uses of technology to support instruction and teacher preparation. Her collaborative efforts with staff personnel and administration are focused on disaggregating data and providing engaging, rigorous opportunities to show student growth. Ms. Allman has developed many professional relationships and networking within the higher education consortium of Radford University and Virginia Tech communities. In addition to these experiences, Amy continues to focus on best and next practices. She is a continuing learner and enjoys curriculum and instruction. Amy has written a manuscript for young juveniles and is currently seeking representation. The story is written to satisfy many social studies state standards of learning. Lesson plans to accompany this chapter book, with common core standards in mind, are currently being constructed.
