About An Goris

An Goris is Professor at the Department of Neurosciences and PI at the Laboratory for Neuroimmunology at KU Leuven. The Laboratory for Neuroimmunology focusses on translational research into multiple sclerosis, and has to this end built a translational structure, with the research pillar represented by Prof. An Goris and the clinical pillar by long-term co-PI Prof. Bénédicte Dubois. Prof. Goris has a strong background in the genetics of immune and neurological disorders, and a wide experience in state-of-the-art omics technologies, including genome-wide association studies, next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, biomarker analyses and single-cell transcriptomics. She currently is Coordinator and member of the Governance Group of the International Multiple Sclerosis Genetics Consortium (IMSGC). Prof. Goris is teaching Biomedical Methods (DNA, RNA, omics technologies), Advances in Neurobiology and Immunology and Scientific Reporting to (bio)medical students at KU Leuven, and has been (co-)supervisor of 12 PhD students, 3 postdocs, and >20 master thesis students.
