What is the next step?”, is a question that motivates me here and now but also makes me think of the step after the next step to find the strategic direction. I tend to act as an activator and love to explore areas that are new to me, while not losing contact with reality. Keeping focus and both feet on the ground are, as I see it, important success factors. I have 25+ years of experience of electronics design and have a broad competence in HW design that spans from, simulation, design and verification in RF, mmWave, analog (power) and digital domain to RF instrumentation, measurement techniques, test automation and project management of small projects. I have spent 9 years building products, teams, competence, measurement capabillity and lab for 24 and 60GHz radar at Axis Communications. It is costly to build an RF lab and understanding the balance between instrument cost, benefit and engineering hours has been a part of it. Simple and cheap tools may be very cost-efficient even if they do not take you all the way to perfection, and sometimes that 150k USD instrument is an absolute must for the lab. Being the unofficial technical leader has helped me understand the importance of motivation and something about how to make an efficient team. I am a ”hands-on”, pragmatic, flexible, and open-minded person that believe R&D engineering is best done with a long-term vision, but still, one step at a time. My long experience in electronics hardware has given me a very useful toolbox for myself, but also others. Nothing makes me happier than if I can use that toolbox to help someone else succeed. I thrive in a cross functional open-minded team that consists of different personalities with different competences where ideas and concepts are shared. My dream job would be to teamwork, possibly as team leader, on a new idea with a technical challenge all the way from a whiteboard drawing, through the different stages of concept, project, and develop it to a final product that can be produced in volumes.
