Time Critical Networks
Simulation tools for evaluating next generation networks Time Critical Networks (TCN) main focus is on developing model-based simulation software tools for evalulating next generation, Ethernet based architectures and networks. TCN creates software that enables networks to adopt to applications' needs and requirements, not the other way around. After years of exciting advanced technology research, TCN 2017 released the TCN TimeAnalysisTM software - model based performance simulation of the network. With this software the user can build robust data networks with latency and packet-delivery in mind. The users are today mainly within the automotive industry, using the software for creating the upcoming autonomous driving communication systems in-vehicle as well as outside the vehicle (V2V/V2X)- Maximize performance at minimum cost - Quickly examine trade-offs in a large design space - Gain insights - Understand how the traffic behaves under different network configurations and usage scenarios, e.g. in an Ethernet backbone with AVB or TSN functionality - Ensure Ethernet can be used - Identify best, worst- and average case latency for individual data flows forwarded and ensure no loss of packets. The company was formed 2008 founded by researchers from the Real-Time and High-Performance Computer Architecture group headed by professor Per Stenström at Chalmers University of Technology. TCN is developing a simulation engine with the objective of allowing holistic prediction of system resource utilization as well as signaling determinism and performance in a setting where the end-to-end signaling encompasses both intra- and inter vehicle networks.

Stockholm Internet Exchange
Established in 2006, Stockholm Internet eXchange (STHIX) operate neutral and independent Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen. The first members joined in late 2006 at one of Stockholm's main fiber hubs back then - Stokab KN1. Since then the members count has grown to more than 100 active members. The traffic peak of the interconnected networks is more than 170 Gigabit per second (Gbps), which makes it the Nordic's 2nd largest IXP operator in terms of both member count and traffic being exchanged on the IXPs. The IXPs are using a distributed network architecture, with physical presence at more than 10 PoPs in total.
