About Andrew Braxton

I'm a multi-faceted professional who has had the privilege to pursue simultaneous career paths. Music is my first passion which led to my degrees and numerous teaching opportunities. Through it all, I’ve found that I have an innate interest and ability to bring creatives together and be a catalyst for memorable experiences rather than mere shows: Under this umbrella, I perform as a solo pianist and band member. I also coach, mentor, and manage individual artists and bands. I've been a writer and producer on multi-platinum records and played countless times at venues such as the Roll & Roll Hall of Fame, the Indy 500, and the Indianapolis Colts stadium, to name a few. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with musicians of almost every genre from all over the world! The roots of my musical interest were from the church. In 2004, I had the opportunity to step in as music director, which became a paid position and a career path that I pursued for many years. While this role was music-focused, to be successful, I had to become a good manager of people, money, and time, be an effective administrator and leader, and collaborate with church leadership for the organization's good: My Master's degree is in education with have held certifications to teach English Language Arts, Special Education, and Music. I've taught high school English/special education, elementary music, and college-level adult education. Having been trained as an educator, I naturally teach, mentor, and coach whomever I'm working with at the time. On the flip side, I tend to bring the "language of music" into all of my classes, using music as a teaching tool whenever I can, ’. I'm looking forward to performing again and helping others do the same. We need more music to light our lives! I'm also looking for a position that utilizes my diverse background and creative sensibilities to help an organization thrive into the future. I'm an accomplished professional experienced with change recovery and a calm, steady, team-oriented leader well-connected in the Indianapolis area. Culture is important to me as I work to bring people together in a spirit of collaboration and inclusion.
