Andrew focuses on commercial and corporate disputes. He acts for clients from a wide range of sectors - banking & finance, hospitality, manufacturing, energy, oil & gas and plantation. He is a partner in the Banking and Insolvency Practice Group. He has notable involvement in a number of landmark decisions on security enforcement, Islamic financing, money laundering and insolvency. Andrew frequently defends financial institutions against claims based on banker’s liability, particularly, on fraud. Andrew’s practice also involves civil fraud, breach of fidelity, breach of fiduciary duty and shareholders’ dispute. His client described him as not only “technically sound” but also, someone “who knows his work and produces really good arguments”. He is a ranked practitioner by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. Andrew, also described as “eloquent and sharp”, is a member of the Malaysian Bar Council’s Advocacy Training Committee. He conducts advocacy training around Malaysia. He has also conducted advocacy courses at Keble College, Oxford, Dublin, Cape Town, South Africa and Singapore.
