About Andrew Hall

I work for Cross-Cultural Communications, a publisher and interpreter training organization based in Columbia, Maryland. As Publications Manager it’s my job to see that the textbooks, workbooks and training guides we develop in-house reach their intended audience. As such I serve as lead marketer, sales representative, point of customer contact, and overseer on development for these publications. As sales have grown, improving efficiency has been a necessity of the position. Some of my contributions have included implementing faster shipping methods, writing an ethical sales policy manual, keeping customers and potential customers apprised of new titles via email marketing, working with bookstores to streamline the ordering process, and deferring some of the hands-on distribution to national book distribution networks. Some short to mid-term goals I have include launching a more secure and user-friendly platform for our e-book titles, expanding upon our distribution network, utilizing other marketing techniques such as paid web ads or social media boosts to reach new customers, and doing my part, in what will be a company-wide effort, to bring our foremost in-person training programs online within the next year.
