About Andrew Ray

As a Health & Safety Leader, I leverage a background that includes health and safety management, employee relations, workforce planning, human resources management, and training and development. Throughout my career, I have hired, trained, and developed hundreds of employees and along the way, the people I have mentored made me a better leader. I believe the secret to my success has been my ability to develop strong, positive relationships with employees, team members, colleagues, superiors, regulators, and community members. This has allowed me to design high-impact safety/training programs that were implemented companywide, ensure my operations met all regulatory standards, and drive positive change on a large-scale. My commitment to relationship building has also allowed me to guide teams through difficult challenges. Early in my career, I successfully led employees in responding to an earthquake that threatened to delay a large volume of packages at the Oakland Airport. Later, I provided sensitive and caring leadership in response to a tragedy at UPS’ San Francisco facility that resulted in serious casualties. In both cases, I prioritized the employees and their needs which ultimately allowed us to be productive as an operation. This steadfast dedication to employees and their welfare extends to their families and community. That is why I have gladly taken on leadership roles in representing UPS in their partnership with the United Way. Through that relationship and in other endeavors, I have supported causes related to serving cancer patients, supporting single mothers and their children, and empowering student success through school resources. Eager to take on a new challenge, I excel in eliminating risk behavior, piloting large-scale hiring programs, and spearheading transformative initiatives.
