About Andrew Stiltner

Critical-Care/ICU Hospital Environment, Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and Microsoft Office including Power Point & Excel, for Nursing data analysis purposes. Earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a dual-minor in Chemistry and Spanish from The University of Akron. Earned a second Bachelor's degree in Nursing also from The University of Akron. I am a Registered Nurse who is driven by the fast-pace and high stakes Critical Care/ICU environment. I provide excellent leadership in my ICU, acting as a charge nurse, a mentor and a resource for my fellow RNs and coworkers, as we help patients improve their health and have a better quality of life post-illness/surgery. I have worked in all types of adult Critical Care Environments, including Surgical ICU, Neuro ICU, Medical ICU, and CVICU/CTICU. I currently hold active BLS/ACLS/PALS licenses, CCRN, FCCS, ENLS and NIHSS certifications, as well as other specialized certifications and training in regards to Critical Care interventions and therapies. Likewise I am skilled in all types if ICU devices including but not limited to CRRT, Arctic Sun, Altrix, Retia-Argos, and the Level1 Rapid Infuser, among others. I truly enjoy teaching students and new unit orients about the exciting experiences and role of Critical Care nursing and how to thrive in that environment. I nearly always have nursing students shadowing or new-grad RNs orienting with me. I have also taken on educating students from various local universities for their Nursing Practicums. Concurrently I sit on 3 committees and 2 sub-committees for The Cleveland Clinic Nursing Institute. These include the CNO Nursing Town Hall, which meets monthly and and has a delegate from each unit to address unit-specific issues, and update all participants on the state of staffing and other hospital-wide issues in regards to nursing. I also actively participate on the Nursing Informatics & Technology Council, where we address issues arising from new technology in the workplace related to Nursing. Lastly, I am on the EMR Excellence Committee, which address nursing issues related to charting and documentation-related burnout and time management in regards to documentation burden.
