Senior Research Officer at the National Disability Authority. Previously I was a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin working on the IDS-TILDA project and a founding member of Lewy Body Ireland. I have studied at end of life issues for people with an intellectual disability and have recently completed the evaluation of the assistant psychologist enhanced primary care psychology service in Ireland. I have also completed a pilot study of an intervention to reduce loneliness in people living with dementia. I am a member of the Health Research Institute, the Ageing Research Centre and the Trinity Centre for Ageing and Intellectual Disabilities. I use both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. My PhD investigated loneliness in older people with an Intellectual Disability developing a model of loneliness in older people with an ID using structural equation modelling, based on the Cognitive Discrepancy Approach to loneliness.
