Architecture Experience Our architecture is a modular monolith, deployed as two independently running services with a shared database. We leverage domain events via AWS SQS for asynchronous processing and internal decoupling, with some inter-service communication. This setup has exposed me to event-driven patterns, message queues, and service-level separation, and has deepened my understanding of trade-offs like database-per-service and eventual consistency — even outside a pure microservices setup. A Bit About Me I’ve been passionate about programming since school—starting with fun projects in BASIC and assembler. Although my early career took a different path, when I returned to software development over a decade ago, it immediately felt like the right fit. In my free time I enjoy building tools that combine technology with real human needs — for example, I maintain an open-source Python project to support finance reporting and capital gains tracking.
