Andy Bleiler-Scenic Designer,Technical Director, Adjunct Professor, Artist. Visit my WEBSITE at : andjamble.wixsite.com/ableiler I am a passionate Arts Educator, who has an extensive background in Theatre as a designer, technician, director, and performer. In Tennessee, I have served as Set Designer / Technical Director and Adjunct Professor for Lipscomb University since 2012, plus three seasons as scenic designer for Vanderbilt University Opera Theatre, Adjunct Professor of Communications for Tennessee State University, Teaching Artist and freelance Technical Director for The Nashville Shakespeare Festival, Scenic Designer and Technical Director for Blackbird Theatre, and Street Theatre. I have been a guest speaker for the Tennessee Arts Academy, and run several workshops with theTennessee Thespians Conference. I am also a licensed K-12 Art and Theatre teacher in the state of Tennessee. I have earned my BFA from Drake University, and my MAT from Concordia University. I am currently earning my MFA from University Of memphis in Scenic Design. My set designs have earned three Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Meritorious Awards for Excellence In Design. I serve as an academic advisor at Lipscomb, and am a member of the Education Unit on education policies and licensure. I also supervise student teachers who are seeking licensure in theater arts, on behalf of the university. I am a member of USITT, and Kappa Delta Pi. I have also owned and operated a licensed General Contracting company, remodeling residential and commercial facilities, and am an accomplished visual artist, working in landscape oils. My hobbies include fly-fishing, canoeing, playing guitar and bass, as well as gardening.
