About Andy Lancaster

Andy Lancaster has been involved in public policy and grassroots work for more than a decade and served as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs for North Carolina Governor, Pat McCrory. In his role as Governor McCrory’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Andy served as the political liaison between the governor’s office, state and elected officials and community leaders. In addition to his role in the McCrory administration, Andy previously served on the governor’s transition team and as state political director of the gubernatorial campaign in 2012. In January 2016, Governor McCrory recognized Andy’s contributions to North Carolina by presenting him with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest honor and award the Governor of North Carolina can bestow. Andy’s work in North Carolina is highlighted by the formation of Fight NC Foreclosure during the national foreclosure crisis in 2009. This initiative helped raise awareness of the problem in the Triangle and saved many homes from foreclosure. Andy Lancaster served as a board member for the Tryon Palace Commission and currently serves as a board member for the Community of Hope Ministries. Recently, Andy has been appointed to the Appalachian State University Board of Visitors—the 30-member Board of Visitors advise and assist trustees and Chancellor Sheri Everts on public policy matters that impact the university. The board will also advise and assist with the university's fund raising activities and needs, and help communicate its mission and accomplishments.
