About Angela Raven

My focus for the last 7 years has been supporting young people and their families within educational settings. I provide interventions for primary aged children which develop emotional literacy, resilience and awareness of self. I use cognitive behavioural approaches to reduce anxiety, self-harm and emotion based school avoidance. I have a particular interest in prevention of and support following harmful sexual behaviour. I am a qualified ELSA practitioner and access regular supervision from educational psychiatrists. I also provide the following for young people via Microsoft Teams: Anxiety Mapping and Strategy Planning Zones of Regulation Curriculum delivery Support to access services and referral pathways Parenting Support and advice Listening service for young people. As a Deputy Safeguarding Lead at a Primary School, I have extensive safeguarding training and work closely with agencies to secure appropriate support for families. I adapt my approach for individual families, encouraging engagement with services and school based support. I am a trustee and Safeguarding Lead for the charity SCIP in addition to hands on role in developing the SCIP youth project. Currently, I am studying Psychology with the Open University and actively participate in the curriculum design panel.
