About Anik Saha

I am passionate about ecology and the environment. I completed MS in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems (TROPIMUNDO) under the EU-funded ERASMUS MUNDUS programme in Belgium (2021). Before that, I obtained BSC and MS in Zoology (2014) and Wildlife Conservation and Management (2015), respectively, from Jahangirnagar University. In my early career, I joined as a Research Associate, working with protected and urban wildlife in Bangladesh. Also, I worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Florence, Italy, supported by the EU, from 2021 to 2022 (ERASMUS+).However, I started a professional career at IUCN (2023) as a Programme Assistant and upgraded to Programme Associate in October 2024. Over the past two years, I have gained experience in natural resource management, specifically in mitigating human-wildlife conflict (HWC), assessing biodiversity, and conducting ecological monitoring in degraded landscapes. Now, I have been working on monitoring tigers and the economic value of social afforestation. In my work, I have utilized skills such as study design, taxonomy, data analysis, and report development. Additionally, I am currently involved in program development and donor reporting. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy wildlife photography and traveling.
