I have close to 3 decades of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, out of which 30 years has been in Cipla. During the course of my tenure at Cipla, I have had the opportunity to work on the shopfloor in various departments such as Tablets, semi solids ( topicals ) and Nasal sprays from 1991 to From I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects across Cipla, setting up new factories, evaluating state-of-the-art technology and machinery for on-going and upcoming projects. From 2005 I took up the responsibility of heading one of the units at Cipla Patalganga and from 2013 heading the entire Patalganga location consisting of 7 manufacturing plants ( 2 formulations and 5 APIs) and managing approx. personnel. During the period 2012-2014 I took up an additional responsibility of coordinator for implementing SAP (PP and MM) for all manufacturing plants of Cipla across India Post this Big Bang implementation of SAP in Nov 2104 I headed back to the site management at Patalganga and took up a few digital transformations in the manufacturing plant where I was responsible for heading a team to implement SCADA ( equipment integration) etrack ( material tracking and mangement through barcode) MES ( electronic BMR) and SAP PM( plant management through digital platform) at Patalganaga site Since March 2019 headed cross-functional automation projects at Cipla India and abroad as part of the Manufacturing – IT & Automation (MIA) imitative and am continuously involved in evolving the organisation’s goal of moving towards Pharma 4.0 (Industry 4.0) I was leading a re-imagination project called Pegasus in partnership with McKinsey to become one of Asia’s digital lighthouses in the life sciences sector The project involves blueprinting of current systems and identifying areas of tech updation in a six layer stack from bottom IIOT layer to the data lake and cloud Further identification of use cases for digitisation and using Advance Analytics to create predictive and prescriptive models which can be deployed across locations to improve buisness outcomes and bring about huge savings This is done using a team of Translators with domain knowledge along with Data Engineers and Data Scientists and high end Analytical tools I have a passion for technology and my domain knowledge of Pharma Manufacturing over the years and the Digital transformation that I have now taken up is a dream that I would continue to pursue I retired from Cipla in June 2021 and am now pursuing a freelance consultancy
