About Anna Birk Hellenes

I'm fascinated by the potential of altermagnets (as shown in the background photo[1]) which are highly spin-active yet display no overall magnetic fields. I explore these unique materials with a vision to develop computing solutions that are denser, faster, and low-power. I'm eager to transition my interdisciplinary research into real-world applications. If you share these interests, feel free to get in touch. Working in the emerging field of altermagnetism, I’ve been part of the network founding this area of research. Our network is funded by competitive grants, including two ERCs, two Collaborative Research Centres (TRR), and the German priority program (SPP). I've also sought to further develop my communication and leadership skills through diverse experiences, including giving invited talks at conferences, the Young Entrepreneurs in Science top-talents track at Falling Walls, organizing the PhD focus session at the German Physics Society conference, Toastmasters International, and teaching courses with Lanterna Education.[1] CrSb crystal.
