About Anna Browne

I am currently a senior writer and editor at a national financial services company based in Portland, Oregon. My more than 30-year career in employee-focused communications has led me through government agencies, nonprofit organizations and public for-profit companies. I have written and edited internal newsletters, external magazines and online publications. I've planned and executed communication strategies to promote understanding about large internal programs that include companywide meetings, email messages and targeted newsletters. I have also advised CEOs, company executives and business leaders on appropriate messages and their timing, and I have written announcements and comments in their voices. The publications I've produced have won awards from IABC, and surveys have consistently rated them well-read and the information important to helping employees feel engaged and informed. In addition to my writing and editing work, I teach a writing refresher class for employees. When I was a manager, I looked to hire team members who were not only excellent writers but well-versed in the fundamentals of journalism and knowledge of AP Style.
