About Anna Gibbs

Those who know me say that I work hard and am always striving for perfection, but I disagree. I believe that I don't work hard enough and that my work is never exactly where I want it to be. I can always be better and I push myself to get there. This has led me to some incredible opportunities. From a young age, I knew I wanted to be in the business world. I started out as a stage manager. But it wasn't enough. I wanted to be onstage. I met many incredible performers, some of whom directed on the side. This was how I landed my first big role, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls. As a 2nd soprano, my range was not high enough. But I didn't let that stop me. I had decided that playing Sarah Brown with excellence was worth fighting for. Over the course of several weeks, I took extra voice lessons and worked at least 2 hours every day to improve my range. To this day, I can still sing the part with confidence. When I was a junior in high school, I decided that I wanted credible experience in the business world before I started college. There aren't many internships available to high schoolers, so I decided to make my own. I got in touch with a local business man and asked if I could meet with him to discuss opportunities within his company. For the entirety of my senior year, I worked for him 6-8 hours a week. I rotated between working onsite in one of his Dukin’ Donut’s, working in the HR department, and working in the financial department. I learned so much that year. Most importantly, I learned what I liked to do and what I didn’t like to do. Now I am able to choose an opportunity and make the most of it. Through all of this, I have learned that I love to plan and work with people and I am excited to see how I can use this in the future.
