About Anna Lodeserto

Core Competencies in International Relations and EU External Action: Institutional and International Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education; Strategic Partnerships (Youth; CSOs; HEIs). Research interests: Youth Participation; Political Participation; Mobile Citizenship; Divided Cities (including a combination of the four). Experienced project manager, policy expert, transnational campaign coordinator, trainer and professional facilitator with a special interest and expertise in the social inclusion of migrants and marginalised groups (especially young people in NEET situations), multiculturalism, and new technologies. Over the past ten years, I intensively worked on social cohesion, intercultural dialogue, global active citizenship, social justice for migrants and actively encouraged citizen involvement in grassroots organisations. Since the I have been advancing policy dialogue, social justice, cross-border cooperation and capacity development tools and programmes serving as an expert and processes leader for European networks, NGOs, local authorities, universities and international organisations. My area of work is at the intersection of education, media, and policy with a track record of progressive responsibility roles. I have attended, promoted and organised more than 500 formal and non-formal education activities as it relates to international youth work, equality and inclusion policies, citizenship education and Euro-Mediterranean dialogue. I have leadership experience in a number of transnational organisations, and academic background and professional knowledge and practice of education programmes and dialogue initiatives between European universities and their partners in Africa, Asia and Latin America. I continuously analyse, report and create articles on citizenship participation tools at the European level, as well as topics about migration policies and media pluralism. In doing so, I am led by a solid commitment to shed light on overlooked issues, people and events in underserved communities that are not adequately represented in mainstream media.
