I am interested in supporting creativity and mental health and well being in youth through social emotional education that supports learner self-advocacy, non-violent communication strategies, and coping strategies to increase resilience. I believe that all school-based staff should learn and practice these strategies as well to better support a school climate in which empathy, creativity, effective communication, democratic participation, and self-advocacy are just as or even more important as the academic content.
