About Anna Winston

Moving between the worlds of design, digital media, curation, and non-profit foundations, I help organisations and individuals shape stories, strategies, and projects. I’m interested in how ideas travel—across disciplines, across communities, across borders, and into the public imagination. I trained as a journalist in London, where I combined reporting with volunteer work for an anti-racism group. After beat reporting, entertainment and music journalism and a dabble in business writing, I found a natural fit in architecture and design media, eventually becoming Editor at Dezeen — the world’s leading architecture and design website. While there I helped lead organisational change and built an international editorial team, leading to a number of awards. After relocating to Antwerp, I studied at Design Academy Eindhoven and expanded my practice to include editorial consultancy and brand storytelling, working with titles and organisations across the design sector as well as brands such as Ann Demeulemeester and Serax. I also led communications for the Korean Pavilion at the 2021 Venice Biennale and the Curators Collective (CC). Today, I combine consultancy for cultural organisations — including Design Academy Eindhoven, where I was formerly Chief Editor — with leading communications and projects for the Evens Foundation, a Brussels- and Warsaw-based non-profit fostering democratic resilience and imagination in Europe. My focus is on editorial, communications, and strategic projects that strengthen civic imagination and build more resilient futures.
