About Antara Narayan

I am Law (Hons. Class I) and Communication (Social and Political Science) graduate from the University of Technology, Sydney. I currently work as a lawyer at Birchgrove Legal, a specialist boutique firm renowned for its prowess in the not-for-profit and social justice sectors. I work primarily in the civil litigation team that accepts a wide range of matters. I also assist with matters in the not-for-profit division, particularly in matters which concern violations against marginalised communities within the Indian diaspora under the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth). In the long-term, I aim to specialise in international jurisprudence, particularly in international human rights and humanitarian law. My high-distinction graded honours thesis entitled 'Temple Entry Movements and the Rights of Dalit Women in National and International Law' set out to critically consider the gaps in international human rights perspectives on human rights violations within India against subaltern approaches to the framing and realisation of rights for marginalised groups within India.
