I am a results-oriented, innovative, and proactive educational professional with a proven ability for academic leadership. I have successfully developed and facilitated the professional growth of teachers as a pre-service training instructor and coach for teaching fellows. My collaborative approach extends to engaging with key leaders in education policy, research, and best practices on a national scale. Serving as a member of the DC Public School Chancellor's cabinet, I have provided valuable input on significant policy decisions. In addition to my administrative experience, I have a strong background in classroom instruction, gaining a deep understanding of the practical challenges faced by educators and students alike. My work in Diversity, Equity, and Social Justice has been a driving force throughout my career, particularly in relation to education policy. With a Ph.D. in Sociology, my research centers on the experiences of BIPOC children attending racially dissonant schools. I strive to shed light on their unique challenges and develop strategies for creating inclusive and equitable educational environments.
