He received the Agrégation de Physique Appliquée degree from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan in 1995, and the Doctorat en Sciences degree from the University of Paris-Sud in He joined the University of Paris-Sud as assistant professor in and as a professor in 2007. He has developed his research activity at Institut d'Electronique Fondamentale (IEF), Orsay, France, now Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N), Palaiseau, France.
