About Arnoud Lust

I recently started a new career as a teacher in secondary education. I inspire and challenge students and offer them a broad view of the world. Before that, for 12 years, I was Manager International Business Development at VITO, a leading independent European research and consulting centre developing sustainable technologies in the area of energy, environment, materials, chemistry, remote sensing and preventive health. I was responsible for increasing the volume of international contracts won, targeting the Middle East, India and China as focus regions. Previously I was business development manager of VITO's Energy division. I dealt with contract research in the fields of energy and environment for international clients: World Bank, European Commission and bilateral donors. During 10 years I was international business development manager for ARCADIS Belgium (previously ECOLAS NV), a consulting and engineering group active in the fields of environment, infrastructure and buildings. 10 years before that I worked for the water company Aquafin, first as a Team Leader in the Planning Department and later as Department Head Special Projects and Environmental Management.
