About Arshad Muhammad

Arshad has more than 25 years of experience in the development sector: program management, program design, strategic planning, quality & accountability, emergency preparedness and response, and developing partnerships with civil society organizations. He has worked with Concern Worldwide, CARE International, Mercy Corps, BirdLife International, Child Advocacy International, ILO and TheNetwork for Consumer Protection. He has written successful concept notes and proposals for ECHO, BMZ, OFDA, EC, DFATD-IHA, ROTA, PRM etc. worth more than US$150 million. Having more than 15 years’ experience at senior management positions, Arshad has been making both programmatic and financial decisions and remained part of strategic planning, organization development, institutional strengthening etc. His strengths also include strong analytical skills, project cycle management, developing management systems and peoples’ management. Successfully led teams to deliver projects of services delivery (health, education, women empowerment, food and nutrition security, infrastructure development, complaints handling), advocacy, emergency preparedness and response. He has managed projects funded by USAID, EU, OFDA, DFID, WWF International, BMZ, ECHO, Canadian DFATD/IHA, US Govt, JICA/JPF etc. On emergency deployment to Philippines, Arshad successfully delivered food, shelter and livelihood program in response to the Typhoon Yolanda. Developed local team and successfully led the team having national and international staff. In Pakistan, he has managed emergency response/ recovery projects on education, food, NFIs, WASH, emergency health, livelihood recovery and cash for work. Arshad has good communication skills, he has edited/ produced regular publications and electronic media products. Arshad holds Masters’ degrees in Statistics & Project Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Women Studies and completed Social Enterprise Management Program from LUMS/McGill.
