About Ashley Chartrand

I am a emergency specialty trained RN working in both rural and tertiary care emergency departments throughout British Columbia. Due to the diversity of my position, I am frequently adapting to changes in computer systems, polices and procedures, equipment and environment, and team dynamics. Within my role, I am responsible for triaging, and providing care to patients presenting with life-threatening, emergent or urgent conditions (CTAS 1-5). Depending on location, I am involved in facilitating the stabilization of patients for transport to higher levels of care, as well as actively participating in the transport of patients to higher levels of care. I work, collaboratively, with many health care disciplines in the emergency department, utilizing resourcefulness, leadership, rapid assessment skills and critical thinking under pressure to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
